Rules of the Road

The 25 Book Campaign is specifically being tracked in your consortium, and there is no classroom grade connected to it; however, in language arts you will receive a grade for blogging about what you are reading. You will be evaluated on a rubric for your participation, and the points gained from blogging will be added to your grade at the end of the 9 weeks. That means you will receive one grade for the 2nd quarter, one for the 3rd quarter, and one for the 4th quarter. For the 2nd quarter we will all respond in my blog. If things go well, you will create your own individual blogs for the 3rd and/or 4th quarters.

Blogging Breakdown

20 points
Blog 8 or more times in 9 weeks.

15 points
Blog 5-7 times in 9 weeks.

10 points
Blog 1-4 times in 9 weeks.

*These are entries based on your own reading, and they need to include a book/reading material title, an author, the number of pages in the book/reading material, and whatever you want to say about the book/reading material. Think critically and share your personal perspectives and insight. You in no way need to provide a complete book summary. In fact, you want to explain things just enough so people can understand your point, but you don't want to give everything away in case you inspire someone else to read the book.

With this rubric, you can see that you have the opportunity to earn anywhere from 30 to 60 points with your posts. You can not score below 30 unless you simply do not write any posts at all.
